Jay Dusard: A Retrospective View Camera to Digital Derringer

With his work published, exhibited, and col- lected worldwide, photographer Jay Dusard is best known for his images of working cowboys and landscapes of the American West. While working in architecture and cartography, Dusard became a self-taught photographer, earning a Guggenheim Fellow- ship, a Pulitzer Prize nomination and several book awards. He studied with Ansel Adams and Frederick Sommer, and established him- self as one of the greatest black-and-white printmakers. The Call of the Land: Cultivating Bartow’s Agricultural Legacy

This special exhibit looks at the individuals and families that have built an agricultural industry and legacy in this area over many generations. See early farming tools, historic farm images, and other artifacts related to farms, crops, agricultural clubs and fairs. While at the museum, be sure to ask about the children’s book, On the Farm, written by local author Marie Whitton of Euharlee, available for purchase in the museum store. Back by popular demand, this hands-on science exhibit will tease your brain to new heights. Brain Teasers 2 will sharpen your problem-solving skills with 20 different challenges that range from mathematical conundrums to mind boggling block puzzles. This is the LAST STOP before this exhibit is retired. Don’t miss it! Exhibit created and toured by Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Farmers Market in Downtown Cartersville The Cartersville Farmers Market is held in Founder’s Oak Parking Lot, across from City Hall and right next to the railroad tracks, in downtown Cartersville. The official season is from May through the end of October, and is held every Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to Noon. Summer Movie Nights at Red Top

From 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm Family-friendly (all rated G or PG) movies will be shown out- doors from Picnic Shelters 1, 2, and 3 at Red Top Mountain State Park. The second installment of the FREE Music by the Tracks summer concert serious takes place in July of 2018 with the talented Babes Bayou!
