A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band on Saturday, August 18th
Popular band set to perform at downtown Cartersville’s Music by the Tracks event
On Saturday, August 18, Tribute, a celebration of the Allman Brothers Band, will be taking the stage in downtown Cartersville at the Music by the Tracks summer concert series. These concerts are presented by Harbin Clinic and Georgia Highlands College and continue to grow in popularity because of our sponsor’s support. The concerts are free to attend and begin at 7 PM in the downtown plaza. It is a rain or shine event.
Tribute is a powerful 8 piece group that faithfully recreates the music from the classic group, the Allman Brothers Band. Since its founding in 2013, Atlanta-based Tribute has earned a reputation as the source for the authentic ABB sound around Atlanta and throughout the Southeast. Rigged with vintage equipment, they interpret the Allman catalog in such a way that these songs written in the ‘60s and ‘70s come alive again.
With sold-out shows at City Winery and legendary performances at Variety Playhouse, The Fox Theatre’s 40th Anniversary Block Party, Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, and more, Tribute has amassed a large and loyal following. “We’re so excited to welcome Tribute to Cartersville!” Says Hannah Surrett, Cartersville Downtown Development Authority Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, “they have a style that can please any crowd. They make a great addition to our Music by the Tracks line up, and will be well received by our community.”
Tribute recalls that unique period in American rock, when psychedelia ebbed and The ABB informed us what jazz, rock, country, and blues could sound like. Comprised of musicians with decades of performance experience, the members of Tribute bring their shared love of The Allman Brothers Band to life when it comes time for hitting that note.
Continued Surrett, “This is the first time Tribute has performed in downtown Cartersville, and we are confident they will draw a large crowd. We are so thankful to Harbin Clinic and Georgia Highlands College for their sponsorship of the Music by the Tracks concert series. Their generous contribution from Harbin Clinic and Georgia Highlands College for their sponsorship of the series is what has helped us improve our lineup of artists that will be performing in this concert series, which takes place the 3rd Saturday of each month from June through September.”
From 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Tribute will take the stage. Attendees may bring their blankets or lawn chairs to the event, or just grab one of the seats in the amphitheater. A warm summer night is the perfect time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some drinks if you so wish. Luckily, Reformation Brewery will be on site with the Local Bar and Grill selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Julian’s Kitchen food truck will also be on site selling the perfect summer cuisine.
